It is with deep sadness and heartfelt memories that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and godmother, Tania Bardis, affectionately known to family as “Yaya”

A brave and resilient soul, Tania arrived in Canada with little more than hope and determination, building a beautiful life rich with love, family, and tradition. Throughout her life, she tirelessly worked long hours, driven by her unwavering desire to provide nothing but the best for her family. Her sacrifice, perseverance, and relentless dedication paved the way for the prosperity and happiness of those she cherished most.

Yiayia proudly celebrated her Greek heritage, creating cherished moments at countless family gatherings filled with warmth, laughter, and delicious food—particularly renowned for her incredible cooking skills, including her world famous pastitsio and moussaka, dishes she prepared with unmatched love and skill. She was also an avid sports enthusiast, deeply enjoying hockey and passionately supporting all the sporting events her family members participated in. Her strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to family will forever inspire us.

Tania Bardis now joins her beloved husband John (Papou) and sister Louise (Louty) in eternal peace. She is lovingly remembered and profoundly missed by her children, George (Nathalie) Matina (Frank), her grandchildren,  Chris (Tracey), Brian (Arianne), Julian (Élodie), great grandchildren, (Liam, Emily, Theo, Philia, Adamo) her sister, (Marie-Thérèse) and long-time friend (Monique) niece Tania Marinos (Nick), nephew & godson, Derek (Tania), her nephew Richard (Vicky), great niece Maria-Louisa (Massimo) and the many lives she touched. May Yaya's memory be eternal.

The family will receive condolences on Wednesday, April 30th, 2025 from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, May 1st, 2025 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Magnus Poirier 6825 Sherbrooke Street east, Montreal H1N 1V7 The funeral service will follow in the chapel of Magnus Poirier at 12 p.m. thence to the Notre-Dame-des-Neiges cemetery for Yaya's final resting place.
