It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mario D’Iorio, on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at the age of 79. Born in Galluccio, Italy, he came to Canada in 1960 and began working at Premier Brand, where he met his wife Maria Barbato of 56 years. A loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle to many nieces and nephews, Mario enjoyed the simple things in life – riding around town on his bike, finding the best deals, sharing a good joke, listening to old Italian classics and most importantly, spending time around the table surrounded by good food and great company. He is predeceased by his parents Luciano and Anna and his sister Rosina. Mario leaves to mourn his wife Maria, his children Claudia (Darren) and Luciano (Rosalia), his grandchildren Liam, Valerio, Laurence and Nathan, his siblings Adolfo and Maria as well as his in-laws. He will also be greatly missed by his nieces, nephews, relatives and lifelong friends across Canada, the US and Italy. The family will receive condolences at Magnus Poirier (6825, rue Sherbrooke Est, Montreal, QC H1N 1C7) on: Friday, January 31, 2025 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2025 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. at San Domenico Savio Church (9190 rue Sainte-Claire, Montreal, QC H1L 1Z7). At the request of the deceased, in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Cardiology Unit of the Maisonneuve Rosemont Hospital or Montreal Heart Institute Foundation.
